Anita Amirrezvani was born in Tehran and currently lives in northern California, where she is pursuing an MFA in fiction at San Francisco State University. She has received fellowships from the National Arts Journalism Program, the NEA’s Arts Journalism Institute for Dance, and the Hedgebrook Foundation for Women Writers. She was a dance critic for a decade at the San Jose Mercury News and the Contra Costa Times.
Her first novel, The Blood of Flowers, has been sold to publishers in 24 countries.
