Gabrielle Pina
Winner of the 2002 Pacificus Foundation Literary Prize for achievement in short fiction, Gabrielle Pina is depicted as a poignant, masterful storyteller. Her novels have been described as Ever-Suspenseful (Black Issues Book Review), Spectacular (Written Magazine) and Certainly Chasing After Oprah (Library Journal). She is a faculty member at the University of Southern Californias Master of Professional Writing Program, where she also received a M.A. degree, and is an adjunct English professor at Pasadena Community College. In 2002, she was viewed as the writer to look out for when she published the highly acclaimed short story Uncommon Revelations for the ESI Anthology, recently re-released by Amazon Shorts. That year also featured the birth of her thesis project, Bliss into a novel, which culminated into a national book tour and three-book deal with Random House. Pina's long awaited sophomore novel, Chasing Sophea was released in October and has become a book club favorite. She resides in Southern California with her husband Ron, and children Julian, Maia and Langston. Pina is currently at work on her third novel, Children of Grace.
